GOLDEN PLAINS CREDIT UNION--Golden Plains Credit Union is offering scholarships! To be eligible, the APPLICANT must be a member of Golden Plains Credit Union (not eligible if parents are a member, but students are NOT). If you qualify, go to https://www.gpcu.org/Applications/Scholarship-Application and complete the application; deadline is March 15, 2025.
KANSAS CRIME STOPPERS ASSOCIATION--The Kansas Crime Stoppers Association is offering a collegiate scholarship. All graduating seniors, who plan to enroll in an accredited Kansas institution are eligible to apply. Please see Mrs. Sheldon for a copy of the application; the deadline is March 21, 2025.
KACRAO/GLENN LYGRISSE SCHOLARSHIP--The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) offers scholarships to reward students who have demonstrated quality leadership during their high school years. There are four $500 awards available each academic year, which may be used for KACRAO member institutions. To be eligible, students must be a senior in high school, have a 3.25 GPA or above, and plan to attend a KACRAO member school (in Kansas) in the Fall of 2025. INVENERGY--Invenergy is donating a scholarship to graduating seniors in southwest Kansas. Students must be planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or STEM-related career, have a 2.8 GPA and at least a 20 ACT score. If interested, please email Mrs. Sheldon for a copy of the application; the deadline is March 31, 2025 by 5 pm.
AG FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP--For the fifth year, American Implement and Western State Bank are excited to partner together to help support the future of the agriculture industry in our area of service. Seniors or college students are both eligible to apply, but must be a resident of Seaward or Meade counties, plan to work within the agricultural industry and pursue a degree in an ag related field, and have a 3.0 GPA or greater. MKC SCHOLARSHIP—MKC is offering scholarships to area high school and college students. The student must be the child or grandchild of an MKC member-owner or an MKC or Producer Ag employee or indicate if you are an MKC member-owner or employee. WESTERN KANSAS CHAPTER OF AMERICAN PETROLIUM INSTITUTE--The API is pleased to announce they will be awarding scholarships to qualifying graduates in the amount of $1,500. To qualify for their “Regular” scholarship, the applicant’s parent and/or grandparent must be employed in the oil or gas industry and student must have a 3.0 GPA. To qualify for the “Industry” scholarship, applicants must remain enrolled in an oil or gas-related major for up to 4 years or until they finish their degree and have a 3.0 GPA. If you qualify, please see Mrs. Sheldon for a copy of the application. The deadline to submit applications is March 31, 2025.
**ARTESIAN VALLEY--The Artesian Valley Health System Healthcare Scholarship is available to seniors pursuing a degree in healthcare from Meade High School, South Gray High School, and Southwestern Heights High School. To apply for the scholarship, you can scan the QR code on the flyer outside Mrs. Sheldon’s office or see her for a copy. The application and other documents must be mailed in and received by April 25, 2025.
**JIM JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP--The High Plains Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA) have established the Jim Johnson scholarship. The chapter is providing a $500 scholarship for a high school senior that will be pursuing a career in one of the physical sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Earth Science, Geology, Hydrology, Meteorology, Oceanography, and Soil Science). Any student interested can see Mrs. Sheldon for a copy of the application; deadline is April 30, 2025.
KANSAS CAREER TECHNICAL WORKFORCE GRANT--The Kansas Board of Regents is offering a grant to be awarded to students who are Kansas Residents and graduated from a Kansas high school and planning to enroll in an eligible career technical education program. Students must complete the application online at sfa.kansasregents.gov and also complete the FAFSA. The deadline to submit an application online is May 1, 2025.
KANSAS EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP--This scholarship is intended to assist first-generation college students and/or dependents of teachers and paraprofessionals in Kansas with their first undergraduate degree. This scholarship is both need-based and merit-based; recipients are selected based on academic proficiency and financial need as determined by federal methodology. If this applies to you, please visit https://www.kansasregents.org/scholarships_and_grants for more information and to apply online; the deadline to complete the application is May 1, 2025.
Kansas Promise Scholarship Act—is open to Kansas Residents who will be entering post-secondary school within 12 months of graduation. Students must complete the FAFSA, fill out the application, and enroll and complete within 30 months of first entering college. Upon completion of the program, students must reside and work in Kansas for a minimum of two consecutive years or enroll in a Kansas institution of higher education and then reside and work for a minimum of two consecutive years. Students must choose a program from one of the four fields of study: Information technology and security; mental and physical healthcare; advanced manufacturing and building trades; early childhood education and development; or one additional program designated by the institution.
